XL bully dogs
As of 1 February 2024, it is illegal to own an XL Bully unless the dog is exempted. The deadline for exempting XL Bullies has now passed.
The change in the law means that it is illegal for animal charities to rehome an XL Bully.

Dogs die in hot cars
As the weather warms up and people are getting out and about more, we are reminding people not to leave dogs in warm and hot cars.
Even if you park in the shade or leave a window open, the temperature in your car can still rise to very dangerous levels and quickly become like an oven.
Nobody ever thinks its going to happen to them or their much loved pet, yet every year many people still gamble with their dog’s life and every summer dogs die in hot cars.
If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, dial 999 without delay.
